P & B Frequently Asked Questions

Are appointments required?

Yes! Our goal at Punk & Boone is not only to help you find your wedding dress, but to give you an unforgettable experience while doing so! For that reason, if you want to try on dresses, we do require an appointment. This way we can ensure that there will be a dedicated stylist working one-on-one with you for the entirety of your appointment!

When should I start shopping for my dress?

AS SOON AS YOU HAVE A RING ON YOUR FINGER!

To have the most options and the least stressful experience, we recommend shopping as soon as possible! Our gowns are made to order, meaning that the dress doesn’t start getting cut and sewn until you place your deposit. Ideally, we recommend dress shopping 9 to 12 months in advance of your wedding. By doing so, you ensure ample time to make your decision and have your gown custom-made and shipped, while still accounting for additional time that might be necessary for alterations. We understand, however, that sometimes this isn’t an option, and so while 12 months is recommended, we strive to make almost any time framework!

What size samples will I be able to try on?

We aim to have a wide variety of samples ranging from size 8-22 available in store. See something that isn’t your size? Don’t worry, our stylists are trained to help you envision the fit by clipping, pinning, and paneling each gown. Fear not, as almost no sample fits perfectly! All of our designers have individual fits and every sample will fit differently. We understand that it can be difficult to envision your wedding dress when the sample that you try on doesn’t fit perfectly, but we’ve got all sorts of tricks to help you get a closer vision of what you will look like on your wedding day.

HELP! My wedding is in a few months, can I still get a dress?

We’re here to help! We have quite a few dress options that can be ordered with a quicker-than-usual turnaround time. Depending on the designer, this rush may incur an additional fee.

We also sell select floor samples right off the rack (and often for a discount). Do keep in mind our rush options may be limited but we will do our very best to help navigate all options while still keeping your budget in mind.

What about alterations?

We select your gown size based on a variety of measurements. It’s our job to get the closest to perfect fit as possible, without needing a ton of alterations.  Though we don’t have in-house alterations, we work closely with a handful of local seamstresses who are extremely talented. Rest assured, if you need alterations, we can point you in the right direction.  The alterations experts will be able to give you the most accurate information on pricing and timelines.

How much time will I need to shop?

We reserve 90 minutes for every bride. That includes completing your order once you say yes to the dress. If you decide you need to sleep on it before making a decision then additional appointments can be made anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

What if I need to reschedule?

No problem, let’s reschedule! But we do require a 48-hour cancellation notice due to our limited availability otherwise your credit card will be automatically charged $50. We typically have a waitlist of brides who would love to schedule an appointment with us, so if you are unable to make it to your designated appointment time, please call 410.200.0097 or email the salon at least 48 hours before your intended appointment and we will be happy to help you reschedule.

What is the price point of your gowns?

Punk & Boone is a “for all” bridal store. Our gowns start right around $1,300 and make their way up to $8,000. We will honor your budget and do our best to find you a gown that you love. You can find more information about each designer’s price point here online.

What should I wear to my appointment?

We recommend wearing a seamless nude thong or underwear. Most of our brides decide not to wear a bra, but if you want to we’d recommend pasties or a nude strapless bra. You can also wear nude Spanx to your appointment as they help smooth out the gown and make you feel the most confident. While you’re definitely welcome to bring heels, they are not needed as we’ll have you stand on an elevated box when trying on dresses.  PLEASE do not come to your appointment with lotion, makeup, spray/self-tan or the alike as these products transfer onto the gowns and cause damage.

Can I pre-shop the collection online?

Yes! You can see our gowns on our Instagram and Pinterest. If you are looking for a specific dress, please email us at info@punkandboone.com
